Hope everyone got to stuff themselves silly again this year on one of the greatest of American holidays!
We spent this holiday with Grandma and Grandpa Roesch. Thanksgiving dinner was served at Julie and Dan's. Cora had been suffering from a fever that came and went throughout the day, and of course, Murphy's law would have it that she would get hit with a round while we were getting ready to eat dinner. Poor baby girl would burst into tears, get hot all over and just want to sit on my lap for 45 minutes. So, luck would have it that just after piling up food on our plates, she began to cry and whine. Henry was half asleep in high chair anyway, so we ushered the kids home almost as quickly as we got there. After the kids were tucked into bed, I stayed behind so that Adam could get back to the meal. The kids slept until about 3:30 in the afternoon. I took a nap too. Cora was better, much better the next day, so apparently getting the rest really helped. But, you know, for me it just didn't really feel like Thanksgiving. We did have a very nice time with Tom and Jackie while we were there and then, of course there was Henry's birthday party!
