Our personal family Christmas was amazing! On Christmas Eve, we made cookies and Cora decorated them. We made a birthday cake for Jesus (strawberry with Dream Whip Frosting.)We had our second traditional Christmas Eve dinner of turkey, baked potatoes, gravy, buns and brocolli and cheese, and much to Cora's delight, "Kid Wine" (Sparkling Grape Juice). She wasn't very impressed with it however. She was more impressed with the blue glass we found for her that looked like Mom and Dad's.
After dinner, we bundled off to the 6:00 Christmas Vigil. It was wonderful! Not too full, and definately charged with energy and beautiful music. We made it back home with enough time for a candlelit bath for Cora, a telling of The Night Before Christmas, and setting aside a plate of cookies and some veggies for Santa and his reindeer.
When the kids woke up in the morning, the stockings were filled with chocolate and personal gifts: A banana tree and a prayer book for Mommy, a cheese slicer and some cds for Daddy, chocolate and some oranges for Cora, and binkies and burp cloths for Henry. Santa had also left gifts for the kids. Chocolate for Cora (just what she'd asked for) and blocks for Henry (must have been what he wanted deep in his tiny, sweet heart.) Then Cora tore into the presents from Mommy and Daddy... the highlight being a large Cinderella doll. As she opened it she exclaimed... "Oh my Goodness! Oh My GOODNESS!!! I never imagined that I'd ever have a PRINCESS of my very own!!!"
After presents, we straightened up and prepared for the Roesch clan to arrive.
